The 16th Gheorghe Dima International Music Competition for flute and clarinet is scheduled to take place from 9 to 15 July, 2017, in Cluj, Romania.
The competition was first established in 1984 and attracts musicians from around the world. At the last edition in 2015, 120 musicians attended from 17 countries to compete. The jury includes internationally-renowned musicians and is led by Razvan Cosmin Poptean, principal clarinetist with the Romanian Symphony Orchestra and a university lecturer at the Music Academy “Gheorghe Dima,” which plays host to the competition.
