It also has the additional benefit of being affordable as well as having software applications designed to complement the equipment they sell. This is called the Boss Tone Studio which can be used to amplify, tune and edit music.
What is Boss Tone Studio?
Boss Tone Studio is a popular editing software that allows you to digitally edit, improve, save and export music you make. After installing the Boss Tone Studio app, you can save it on a USB drive and install it into your Boss amp and start working.
It is important to note that Boss Tone Studio is compliant only with Windows and therefore, for macOS you would need to install an additional driver. Boss Tone Studio is used widely all over the world particularly for enhancing audio quality. It can also be noted as a popular tool used by many EDM artists.
Boss Tone Studio Not Working
However, as with all technology, there could be possibilities for glitches and hang-ups, which are inconvenient. There could be instances where your whole device has stopped working because of the Boss Tone Studio file and in cases like this, there are a few things that can be done to help you.
- Check the Platform
You will find that there are a number of platforms that are supported by Boss Tone Studio. However, if it does stop working, you should consider checking on the platform first and see if it is actually compatible with Boss Tone Studio.
This is normally the main issue when it comes to a problem with using the application and therefore, before going down a long path of troubleshooting, it is a good idea to look at the app’s compatibility with the platform. This in turn can save you a lot of trouble and inconveniences for the future.
- Reinstall the Software
Another thing to try is simply uninstalling and reinstalling the Boss Tone Studio app if nothing else is working. It is a pretty simple process where you must make sure the software has been completely uninstalled before you reinstall it. It is a good idea to restart your computer before reinstalling the application.
- Look Out For Newer Versions of the Software
The good thing about programs like Boss Tone Studio is that software developers are constantly working on improving glitches or errors with the previous versions of the program and reproducing new versions that usually come with several improvements.
It is, therefore, important to keep an eye out for the latest version of Boss Tone Studio that can usually be found on the Boss Central website. It is possible that previous glitches will not show up in the later version. This is a good way to ensure that any problems you may have been experiencing are not an issue anymore.
- Check Permissions
Sometimes as a precautionary measure, permissions for external programs get restricted by your devices. This can happen as a result of a firewall or just general protection by your device. This in turn can also be the reason for any problems you may be experiencing with your Boss Tone Studio software.
Restricting permissions such as audio access may be unintentional but can severely halt the software from working smoothly on your device. Therefore, you should be prompt in checking the permissions and allow Boss Tone Studio access to all the necessary input and output resources.
This can be a great help and ensure that the application now runs smoothly for you.
- Closing Background Apps
Sometimes the reason the Boss Tone Studio is not working or is lagging is that there is too much load on the operating system of the computer. This can happen when there are too many things open on the device making it hard for it to process all commands. In instances like this, the cache of the computer also fills up.
Therefore, in order to get your primary application to continue working smoothly, you would need to close all additional programs running on your computer. You may also need to clear your cache to free up enough space for the Boss Tone Studio to work smoothly.
Boss Tone Studio Not Working After the Windows Update
If you have been using Boss Tone Studio and found that it has suddenly stopped working, it is possible that it was because of a Windows update. You would probably find that as the permission for your device’s mic has been turned off, the Boss Tone Studio app is not working.
For this, you would need to go to the device’s Settings where you will then find an option for Privacy. Here you will find an option for Microphone and a few settings. Click on Preferred Settings and then you will be given a list of apps. By pressing onto a specific app, you would allow that program to use your microphone.

Guys i had some success with changing mp3s to audio file in Audacity then save to desktop but save as 44.1 x 32bit float wav files ..hope this helps
the issue is Boss tone studio it will accept some wav files and not others..all of them the same 32bits 44.1 stereo… I have put them in Audiacity and change them still no success…any idea..
unsupported file when downloading backing track 32 bit 44.1 stereo … some work most dont .. any ideas
Same problem. Getting the “Download failed” error message. Btw, Tone Studio is extremely picky with wave file formats. A company working for decades in the audio industry is not able to code a general wave file parser and converter? Pathetic.
This is really bad software support from Boss, I have 8 hours over 2 weeks trying to get the thing to connect. No luck, it did a couple of times before though. Terrible product. Instead of wasting my time trying to do the impossible. I`ll just compose hate mail about Boss on other sites. Amp was expensive, wouldn’t recommend it.
Same problem with rc 505- no download of track sets. Error- download failed. Other files from PC to rc and back can betransfered, but nö download from Tone Studio. Please help!
storage mode works ok, buy cannot download track from BTS unless RC 50 is connected
I got a win 10 update on additional updates. Now Boss tone opens, but cannot download tracks, not even when I am in USB mode
My RC 50 boss tone says a connection to Boss Tone Central cannot be established (Win 10 v.21H2. I tried everything I can think of with microphone, but there is no way to allow access to BTS. Any help?
There’s no license to use Tone Studio. Make sure you’re not editing a memory; write it if you are. Try putting RC-5 in Storage mode, and then try downloading a track from Tone Studio.
