Dotan Negrin decided to quit his day job in 2010 so that he could travel the world with his piano, playing for audiences as he went. “I was unhappy and frustrated with the way the world works. I spent two years after college jumping from job to job without really feeling like I was moving forward. I wanted to figure out a way to make a living doing the things I am most passionate about: music, traveling the world, and meeting people,” he writes on his website.
One of his biggest adventures was in 2013 when he drove from New York to Costa Rica, staying on the road for seven months. Along the way, he spent time at Mardi Gras in New Orleans and played for some people who had never even seen a piano before.
As well as his piano, Dotan travels with his dog Brando. To date, they’ve visited over 300 cities in 21 countries.
