When I first tried out Elixir strings, it was the Nanoweb 80/20 and Phosphor bronze (Didn’t know about the Polyweb yet) but my draw back is that both were super bright sounding and noticed a lot of fraying and the strings would actually snap in the middle of playing or tuning. Great for finger style but I like heavy hand action playing. So for a few years I went back to my old string, D’addario EXP13s because I like 80/20 bronze but in a woodier sound and vintage organic tone. The problem is that they didn’t last long as the Elixirs. However my friend suggested to try the Polyweb and since my first pack of those I never looked back. Feel and playability and durability is amazing. Also I have noticed a very small amount of fraying but then it stops. The only minor thing I have seen was discoloration but that’s it. Never had a string break. These give out that D’addario sound I loved but they last such along time.
