Suzuki MDG 300 Micro Grand Digital Piano Review
Suzuki is one of the biggest names in music and they make a lot of musical instruments that have been respected worldwide. One of their most impressive grand digital pianos is the Suzuki MDG-300 Micro Grand Digital Piano. This review will go in-depth into all the things you should know about this piano if you are looking to buy it.
Physical Appearance
The MDG-300 looks amazing from a distance and close by. Its nice black color is warm and adds a lot of personality to your environment. The white polyester version is also impressively done to fit homes with that style. The cabinet of the MDG-300 is really attractive and impressive with its polished wood finish and the grand piano style.
The profile is beautiful, and it is not big so it can fit in most spots. It measures 24 inches by 60 inches by 36 inches tall which makes it less prominent than most digital grand pianos in the market. This is an advantage that allows you to put it in more spaces at home. It can be mounted in small rooms, corners of larger living areas or even in the basement for practice. The 300 Micro includes a power adapter, a strong stand, a bench and a pack of three pedals for playing.

No matter your skill level, the MDG 300 is good to provide you with all your music needs. Here are some features that make the MDG 300 an amazing choice.
- Sound technology – The MDG-300 makes use of Suzuki’s excellent and world-renowned sound imaging technology. This helps it to make some really amazing tones that are deep, expressive and real sounding. With the MDG 300, what you get is a solid 3D sound effect that has unmatched dynamic response. The piano also features a 24MB piano voice that makes it perfect for those trying to learn how to play.
- Sound Delivery – The MDG-300 contains a capable speaker that has six speakers in total. The sound system makes use of premium speakers, an in-built cabinet and sound engineering to ensure that all the tones produced by the MDG-300 are realistic, rich, powerful and projecting.
- Wireless connectivity – This is one digital piano that is built with all of today’s modern connectivity options in mind. The MDG-300 is equipped with the most recent Bluetooth technology that allows you to connect any of your wireless gadgets to the digital piano. This is a great feature that opens up many options for optimized used with external speakers and other instruments. You can also plug an Apple iPad to this digital piano to record the music that you are playing. This neat feature helps to make the MDG-300 a convenient and capable piano for kids who want to practice and have fun playing the piano. They can playback their practice sessions and learn from their mistakes.
- USB port – If you are looking for a digital piano that allows you to enjoy extended functions, then the MDG-300 lets you plug it directly to a computer or laptop. It also works perfectly via the MIDI ports to send and receive data from other music accessories and devices.
- Display Screen – One of the best features of the MDG-300 is the capable 4.3-inch LCD display screen that has full color and can be used for organization. It allows you to find everything you want fast on the piano’s menu. This is important in making sure that you can easily select functions that you need and operate the piano effectively.
- Pre-loaded songs and sounds – Practicing how to play the piano is easy with the MDG-300 because it comes with over 55 preloaded songs that you can play immediately using the songbook in the package. The difficulty levels of the songs also vary so that there is something for everyone to choose from whether easy rhymes to practice with or complex songs to sharpen your playing skills. Some of the songs are also specially designed to enable practice for either one hand or both. There are also more than 600 sounds available on the piano that you can also select to make music with.
Pros of the MDG-300
- Excellent sound quality – The reverb is excellent at most times even though it could be quite shaky when pumping the pedals. There’s barely any negative reverb effect and even if you notice some, it is easy to the fic.
- Portable size – The size makes it easy to move around. The MDG-300 isn’t the beefiest of pianos and at around 200 lbs., you can easily move it about in the house without worrying about the legs breaking.
- Easy to assemble – The MDG-300 comes with all the tools that you need to set it up yourself and tune it to make an amazing sound. The connectivity options such as Bluetooth and USB are easy to work with and sound beautiful.
- Great value for money – this piano offers many more advantages than other ones in a similar price range and also performs as capable as other similar pianos that are higher-priced.
- Awesome selection of features – you can barely find a feature that you’d need that you can’t find in this piano. It has everything that a digital piano of its caliber should have.
Cons of the MDG-300
- More voices could be provided – This is one area that other pianos in this range perform better. The selection of pre-loaded voices could be more extensive
- Bench is uncomfortable – The bench provided can only seat one person comfortably. If you are going to be playing with a teacher or a partner, you would need a better bench.
- Technical metronome issue – sometimes the digital piano will not work properly, and the keys will not make any sound even though it is on. Turning the power on and off usually fixes this but it is quite disturbing sometimes when it occurs.
