What sets indie folk band The Staves apart from nearly everyone else in the genre is their incredible vocal harmonizing skills. Sisters Emily, Jessica, and Camilia Stavely-Taylor sing as though they are one voice, adding melodic textures with their guitars. The brilliance and skill of this harmonization is revealed powerfully in their studio albums Blood I Bled EP and If I Was.
The Staves also dive into the realm of cover songs, taking their talent to new heights and showcasing their musical skills to new audiences. Bruce Springsteen’s I’m On Fire is one such example, illustrating the dynamic sound of these three performers, as well as capturing a new interpretation of the rock icon’s classic tune.
